A major anti-drug operation was carried out by police in Greece, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics and the arrest of three suspects for drug trafficking.

The operation, conducted in the Attica region including Athens, began late Tuesday and concluded today (April 8). According to Greek media, three individuals aged 59, 50, and 35 were arrested, accused of possession and trafficking of narcotics.

During the operation, authorities seized over 26 kilograms of cocaine and more than 360 kilograms of cannabis, both processed and unprocessed. The estimated street value of the drugs is around 2.5 million euros.

Investigations revealed that the 35-year-old was initially caught in an area of Athens with over 10 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis. He attempted to evade police by driving at high speed and breaking traffic rules, later resisting arrest.

Authorities stated that the drugs had been previously supplied by the 59-year-old, who also acted on behalf of the 50-year-old. Most of the narcotics, along with packaging and distribution equipment, were found in a warehouse and an apartment used by the suspects.

In addition to the drugs, police confiscated electronic scales, forged documents (ID cards and driver’s licenses), official stamp matrices, over 31,000 euros in cash, mobile phones, a vehicle, and a security camera system.

Two of the arrested individuals have previous criminal records. They have been taken to the prosecutor’s office, and investigations into their full criminal activities are ongoing.
