Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the average salary in the last quarter has reached 833 euros, while from January 2026 the minimum wage will be 500 euros.

In his remarks, Rama emphasized that the increase in pensions starting from January next year will go beyond indexation and will continue in a sustainable manner year after year.

According to him, the full urban pension will increase by 18,000 old lek per month starting in January 2026. This increase will be doubled in 2027, tripled in 2028, quadrupled in 2029, and will continue with progressive increases in the years that follow.

The partial urban pension will increase by 8,000 lek per month, the rural pension by 1,000 lek per month, the family pension by 700 lek per month, while the disability pension will increase by 600 lek per month.

The head of government also addressed economic indicators, noting that new businesses have increased by around 20 percent, while foreign investments have recorded growth of over 10 percent in the third quarter. According to Rama, the stock of foreign investments has also risen by more than 10 percent compared to a year earlier.

He added that pension indexation began in October of this year, and with the start of the new year, a sustainable increase in pensions will begin, which will be gradually strengthened each year.
