The Serbia–Albania match is approaching, and this time it is expected to be extremely intense. Not only because of what happened in Belgrade 11 years ago, but also due to the importance of this fixture. The national team that wins will rank behind England in second place and will most likely secure a ticket to the World Cup Play-Offs.
In our first qualification for the European Championship in France, a major hand of help came from Ballist Morina. The prideful drone he flew over Belgrade led to the Albanian Football Federation winning the dispute against Serbia at the disciplinary tables after a long legal battle, resulting in a 0–3 victory for Albania and eventual qualification to the Euros.
Could we reach the World Cup Play-Offs in a similar fashion? Something big may happen again this time in Leskovac, where the Serbia–Albania match will take place. Ballist Morina has started a countdown on his Facebook profile for the match, hinting that something is about to happen, writes "Sport Ekspres".
Many speculations and ideas have started circulating. The first thought is a repeat of the drone incident, though perhaps not with a drone this time, but with another clever plan. Another theory is that Ballist Morina may simply be bluffing to keep the Serbs in constant panic over a possible repeat of the previous scene, which could unsettle their atmosphere and give Albania even the slightest edge.
Even just finding a way to be present in Leskovac given its proximity to Prishtina would be a major embarrassment for Serbia, without even needing to execute anything inside the stadium. Everyone is curious to see what will happen in Leskovac and whether another shocking surprise awaits Serbia. In any case, anxiety and panic among our opponents have noticeably increased as the match approaches. If Albania were to win once again at the disciplinary table due to a plan orchestrated by Ballist Morina, he would undoubtedly deserve a statue in Tirana. This time, however, it will be more difficult, as security measures are stricter and the match has been moved to Leskovac precisely for tighter control.
