Beer spilled, but so did the punches: clash between intoxicated individuals and police in the middle of the night

On August 18, 2025, around 1:00 AM, the Korçë Police received a report of a conflict in neighborhood no. 17, in the area where the Beer Festival was taking place. The police intervened immediately to prevent the situation from escalating.

During initial investigations, three individuals involved in the conflict were identified and taken into custody: A. M., 51, S. M., 23, and E. B., 40, all residents of Zëmblak. While being escorted to the station, they forcibly resisted police officers.

Following investigations conducted by the Judicial Police officer of the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with the Korçë Police Department, the three individuals were arrested on the spot for resisting public order police officers and for causing minor injuries intentionally, committed in collaboration.

During their escort, seven other people, friends of the arrested individuals, attempted to obstruct the police actions. They are: A. P., 21, resident of Tirana; A. P., 30, resident of the village Kuç i Zi; B. H., 18; D. M., 35; G. B., 19; L. M., 39; and Xh. H., 25, resident of Zëmblak. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against them while they remain free, for resisting public order police officers.

All procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korçë for further action.
