Berisha the only candidate in the race! The elections for the leader of the Democratic Party are being held today

Democrats will head to the ballot boxes this Saturday to elect the chairman who will lead the political force for the next four years.

The only candidate in the race will be the historic leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha, who has described the May 23 process as a “referendum” on the leadership of the party. Berisha stated that the vote, despite having only one candidate, is democratic and aims at renewing the Democratic Party.

The voting process will begin at 08:00 and close at 18:00 in all Democratic Party branches across the districts.

Unlike previous internal party election processes, this time the votes will be counted at the voting centers themselves rather than at the central headquarters of the Democratic Party, while the result is expected to be published on Saturday evening.

During the pre-election period, the Election Commission of the Democratic Party excluded candidates who sought to enter the race against Berisha, leaving only his name on the ballot paper.
