Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken about the wildfire situation.
Through an online communication on Facebook, Rama reported that 207 houses have been damaged by the massive fires that affected the country in recent hours, with 40 of them completely burned.
Rama also expressed his condolences to all citizens who have lost their homes.
He emphasized that no one will be left alone and everyone will see the government and the state supporting them to return to a better and stronger home, and to receive appropriate compensation for the lost livestock as well.
“I am here to share with you some impressions and, of course, some data regarding the past 48–72 hours, which have been extremely difficult due to fires that have spread more extensively than ever before at this moment.
First of all, I want to express my condolences to anyone who has lost a loved one and convey my full solidarity to the families that have actually lost their homes to the fire. As we speak, 207 houses have been damaged by the fire, including 40 families who have completely lost their homes so far.
I want to assure all families, whether they have completely lost their home or suffered damages, that we are carrying out a full inventory of these damages according to the situation protocol and with the relevant authorities, and, without a doubt, as has happened in the past, it will happen again.
No one will be left alone, and everyone will see the government and the state supporting them to return to a better and stronger home and to receive the appropriate compensation, including for the lost livestock.
So far, 3,619 livestock have been lost. We will compensate each one without any discussion while the inventory continues,” said the Prime Minister.
