What happened at Rama’s meeting in Pogradec? Orders for the Socialists emerge

The chairman of the Socialist Party and Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting this Sunday in Pogradec with political delegates and Socialist chairs of parliamentary committees.

During the meeting, the documents “Besa” and “Prania Besnike” were discussed, while part of the discussions focused on the territorial reform and the possibility of merging several municipalities.

Sources say that Rama asked the political leaders of the municipalities reportedly facing a merger to explain to citizens that the change would bring more services and faster delivery. He also asked for the “Besa” document to be read and distributed to MPs, mayors, and party leaders.

The 2027 local elections were also discussed. Rama reportedly asked political leaders to begin identifying names and figures who are closer to their communities.

The Prime Minister also called for a greater presence of Socialist leaders within communities, while urging the chairs of parliamentary committees to be more active in the media and more careful in how laws are communicated to citizens.
