20 public schools in Tirana will soon be equipped with a surveillance system using cameras and artificial intelligence.
The news has been confirmed through sources from the Local Directorate of Tirana Police, which told Vna.al that 20 educational institutions, including 9-year schools and high schools, will be equipped with cameras as part of the “Smart City” project.
According to the document, the schools where the cameras are expected to be installed are:
1. “Fan Noli” 9-year school – Qemal Stafa Street – 11 cameras – 1,125 students
2. Technical-Economic High School – Myrtezim Këllici Street – 19 cameras – 600 students
3. “Marie Logoreci” 9-year school – Ali Shefqeti Street – 12 cameras – 478 students
4. “Aleks Buda” High School – Gjergj Legisi Street, Laprakë – 20 cameras – 700 students
5. “Kongresi i Manastirit” 9-year school – Tre Dëshmorët Street – 20 cameras – 1,460 students
6. Kamëz Vocational High School – Montreal Street – 17 cameras – 1,540 students
7. “Ramazan Jarani” 9-year school – Selaudin Bekteshi Street – 17 cameras – 478 students
8. “Karl Gega” Vocational High School – Bedri Karapici Street – 30 cameras – 857 students
9. “Ibrahim Rugova” High School – Nën Tereza Boulevard, Kamëz – 23 cameras – 1,116 students
10. “Isa Boletini” High School – Unaza e Madhe, Paskuqan – 22 cameras – 410 students
11. “Qemal Stafa” High School – Durrësit Street – 31 cameras – 1,300 students
12. “Ahmet Gashi” 9-year school – Dritan Hoxha Street – 14 cameras – 893 students
13. “Gjon Buzuku” 9-year school – Kahreman Ylli Street – 17 cameras – 870 students
14. “Partizani” High School – Dibrës Street – 12 cameras – 582 students
15. “Bajram Curri” 9-year school – Niko Avrami Street – 22 cameras – 482 students
16. “Avni Rustemi” 9-year school – Bogdanëve Street – 24 cameras – 752 students
17. “Jeronim De Rada” 9-year school – Durrësit Street 18 – 13 cameras – 710 students
18. “Vaçe Zela” 9-year school – Eshref Frashëri Street – 15 cameras – 502 students
19. “Petro Nini Luarasi” High School – Sami Frashëri Street – 19 cameras – 1,022 students
20. “Hoxha Tahsin” 9-year school – Hoxha Tahsim 95 Street – 17 cameras – 635 students
It is also reported that the implementation of the project is being carried out by the company “Presight AI”, part of the G42 group, based in the United Arab Emirates.
