Dhimitër Llogori, the man who trained dozens of journalists: “Uncle” who earned everyone’s respect

Happy birthday to Dhimitër Llogori, one of Korçë’s most iconic TV cameramen and a respected figure far beyond the city!

With his Bolex camera in hand, tireless and always present wherever there was something worth documenting, Dhimitër Llogori has left a distinctive mark on the history of Albanian television.

From filming on sports fields and at various events to ski competitions, he was there in every season and at all times, capturing moments with his camera that have now become part of the city’s and Albanian sport’s collective memory.

A respected and honored name, he was part of a generation that helped write the history of Albanian television from behind the camera. But his contribution went far beyond his work as a TV cameraman.

With his many years of experience, Dhimitër Llogori helped train and mentor dozens of young journalists, teaching them not only the technical side of the profession, but also accuracy, passion, and a love for television. For many of them, he was a point of reference and a mentor who guided them through the early stages of their careers.

The respect he earned over the years was so great that journalists affectionately called him “Uncle.” It was more than just a nickname—it was a sign of respect, closeness, and gratitude toward a man who always had advice, a helping hand, or a kind word for his colleagues and younger generations.

But Dhimitër Llogori was not only the man behind the camera. He was also a professor, a dedicated teacher who, for many years, taught generations of young people in several schools, sharing with them not only knowledge but also his passion for the camera and the profession.

Today, on his birthday, we remember with respect a professional, professor, and friend to generations of journalists.
