Director of GDUE Korçë, Vinjola Rota: The reopening of the French Lyceum in Korçë, a new step in cooperation

“The reopening of the French Lyceum in Korçë, a new step in cooperation.

At the Prefecture of Korçë, the closing session of the Steering Committee for the project to reopen the French Lyceum in Korçë was held, with the participation of the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, the Prefect Nertil Jole, and the expert of the French government, Jérôme Lebars.

This project, supported by the French Embassy and local and central institutions, marks an important step in strengthening educational and cultural ties between Albania and France.

The establishment of this institution will offer young people new educational opportunities.

During yesterday’s meeting, discussions focused on the development of the French language in the five supporting schools of the bilingual section: the nine-year schools “Mësonjëtore e Parë Shqipe,” “Stavri Themeli,” “Sotir Gurra,” “Naum Veqilharxhi,” and “Demokracia” of the Municipality of Korçë, which prioritize the French language in their educational programs.

The importance of improving teaching quality, teacher training, and organizing activities that promote a love for the French language and culture was emphasized.

The Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, praised the dedication of the schools and teachers who contribute every day to strengthening the teaching of foreign languages, considering French as an important bridge toward European culture and cooperation.”
