“Do not diminish the figure of the teacher” / It is valuable… We are facing a generation that does not recognize limits…

In recent years, the figure of the teacher has faced challenges it has never experienced before.
In many classrooms today, teachers are working in front of a generation of students who test every boundary: they do not bring books, they do not want to learn, they interrupt lessons, they insult teachers and classmates, and often push the learning process into chaos. From a 45-minute lesson, only about 5 minutes remain for real teaching.
The teacher is a human being.
Their duty is to teach, not to become a police officer, a security guard, or a discipline enforcer. No one protects the image of the teacher anymore. On the contrary, they are often faced with mockery and insults even outside the school environment.
I am not, and I will never be, in favor of violence. But today’s reality shows that many teachers are often pushed into situations where they are forced to lose their temper. And when a parent says, “I can’t do anything, I can’t change my child’s behavior,” what is expected of a teacher in front of 30 students, 20 of whom mock, insult, and disrupt the lesson? School is not a re-education institution.
It is an educational institution. If a child comes without manners from home, neither the teacher nor the school can perform miracles. Parents, take the responsibility that belongs to you. Help your children, educate them, teach them respect. A teacher cannot replace parents. They are there for knowledge, character, and professional guidance, not to act as a daily police officer or psychologist.
I am a teacher.
I come from a family of teachers for 40 years. Yet even I, in a lesson, have faced unacceptable behavior: a student acting like a dog or a cat, bothering classmates, throwing books, disrupting the class. I have used patience and kindness, I have raised my voice, I have hit the desk with a book, but nothing worked.
Am I an incompetent teacher, or are we facing a generation that no longer knows boundaries and respect? We often hear: “We are paid for this job.” Yes, we are paid. But we are paid for knowledge, ethics, preparation, not to maintain order in a chaotic classroom. In a single day, a teacher is a teacher, psychologist, guard, police officer, mediator, counselor, and above all, a big heart trying to still believe in children.
Therefore, students and parents, please respect the teacher. Understand their role. Support them.
Because only by protecting the figure of the teacher do we also protect the future of our children.
