Domestic violence/ Brother and uncle forcibly take 30-year-old woman, put her in a car, and beat her

Crime Investigation specialists in Gjirokastër have referred four individuals to the Prosecutor’s Office, suspected of kidnapping and assaulting a 30-year-old woman within the family.

The citizens A. A., S. A., and E. M. are suspected of forcibly taking and assaulting the sister of a 34-year-old man, while L. L. is suspected of having knowledge of the incident and failing to report it to the police.

“Specialists from the Crime Investigation unit of the Gjirokastër Police Station referred the case to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against A. A., 34, S. A., 53, and E. M., 51, all residents of Tirana, as well as L. L., 43, resident of Këlcyrë. It is suspected that, following a family conflict, A. A., S. A., and E. M. forcibly took the 34-year-old’s sister, also the 53-year-old’s niece into a vehicle. Furthermore, the 30-year-old woman is believed to have been assaulted by her brother and uncle in the uncle’s home. It is also suspected that the 43-year-old had knowledge of the incident and did not report it to the police,” the police statement reads.
