Myocardial infarction is no longer sparing young people. Cardiologists say that in recent years, cases have been increasingly observed even among people under the age of 40, and the causes are numerous.
“There are a number of risk factors related both to lifestyle and eating habits. These are directly linked to conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and high blood fat levels, along with stress and other psychological factors that can contribute to the early onset of myocardial infarction, even in younger patients.
The incidence has mainly increased among people over 40, but we have also seen cases in younger ages, even as young as 35,” said cardiologist Leonard Simoni.
Cardiologists urge everyone over the age of 35 to undergo a heart check-up at least once a year in order to prevent possible fatalities.
Summer and high temperatures can affect the heart, especially in elderly people and those with chronic illnesses. Doctors therefore recommend a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and regular check-ups to maintain good heart health.
