House burglary ring busted / Three ‘hawks’ arrested

The operation codenamed “Strategy” has been completed by Police Stations No. 2 and No. 3, targeting a criminal group involved in residential burglaries.

Three members of the group were arrested. All three had prior convictions for the same crime.

The investigation revealed three burglaries committed by the group during January. One of the burglaries occurred yesterday, while in one of the homes, 14,000 euros and valuable items were stolen.

The group members would first photograph the door locks of the homes. They then studied the images to understand the mechanism and enable opening with a master key.

As a result of the investigations aimed at uncovering the burglaries and identifying the perpetrators, specialists from the Crime Investigation units of Police Stations No. 2 and No. 3 carried out operation “Strategy,” locating, apprehending, and arresting A. M., 36, S. T., 35, and G. K., 38.

According to the investigations, the three individuals, organized as a group, on January 7 burglarized a home on “Don Bosko” street, on January 10 stole 14,000 euros and valuables from a home on “Dritan Hoxha” street, and yesterday committed another burglary on “Don Bosko” street.

Work is ongoing to clarify other burglaries that these individuals may have committed.

The procedural materials have been submitted to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
