The well-known actor Agron Llakaj has recently spoken about the loss of his wife, Konstandina, who passed away a year ago after battling a serious illness.

In an emotional interview, the actor tearfully confessed that he could not accept the idea of her passing and refused to fulfill her last wish.

"I’m the only person who didn’t take any last wish from Konstandina, I refused. I couldn’t accept that she had to leave me," he said.

Agron recalled their final trip to Turkey, when he realized that his wife’s health had significantly worsened.

"We were very disappointed. When we went to Turkey for the last time, I was the one who held the knife. The doctor pulled me aside and told me it was over. I said, ‘But you told me she had 5–6 years left.’ I don’t even want to discuss how much we invested in saving her life. We would have sold everything just to save Konstandina’s life," the actor said, explaining that for a long time he hid his pain, trying instead to give Konstandina strength and hope to keep fighting.

"That night was sleepless. I didn’t dare to share it with my daughter. For two weeks, I didn’t even know how I was functioning. I told the children, and we kept behaving as if nothing had happened until the end. There was never a lack of laughter in our home until the moment she went to the hospital. I went on TV shows, laughed with all my heart on screen, just so she would think: ‘He’s smiling, so I’m fine.’"

Among other things, Agron shared a deeply moving moment when he asked his daughter to prepare Konstandina for her final farewell as if she were a bride.

"I asked my daughter, Alkida: ‘Daddy’s sweetheart, your mom deserved to leave looking like a beautiful bride, and I want you to do her professional makeup.’ We both stayed there, crying as we did her makeup, and we said goodbye to her just like that beautiful, as she always was."

After her passing, Agron admitted that he went through a dark period, often feeling that he no longer had a reason to live.
