Journalist: Rama will depart for the United States on January 20 to testify as a person with knowledge; he will travel together with a lawyer

The host of the program “Oponencë,” Anduena Llabani, issued a strong and shocking warning in the studio, stating that Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to be summoned to the United States of America to testify as a person with knowledge in connection with several cases opened by the U.S. justice system.

According to Llabani, the mentioned date is January 20, a moment she described as critical and unprecedented for a sitting Albanian prime minister. “We hope they don’t block Rama’s travel on January 20, when he will be called to the U.S. to testify as a person with knowledge regarding several files that have been opened there,” she said.

The moderator emphasized that this step represents a “verdict” which, for the first time, places the Albanian prime minister in unequal conditions before justice. According to her, this is a situation that even Rama himself does not fully anticipate in terms of how it will unfold and what consequences it may have.

Llabani stated that the information she possesses indicates that the prime minister will not travel alone to the U.S., but accompanied by a lawyer. According to her, this is linked to the fact that the testimony will concern cases that have been open for a long time by the U.S. justice system, supported by evidence she described as shocking.

“These files contain very interesting elements for Albanian geopolitics,” Llabani said, adding that these are developments that could have a strong political and institutional impact.
