Korçë/ The teacher harassed s*xually students with messages, Korçë Prosecutor’s Office sends the teacher to trial

The Korçë Prosecutor’s Office has sent an art teacher to trial after he allegedly sexually harassed his students.

The incident took place a year ago, while the report was filed by the parents of the underage girls.

According to the announcement, the teacher had been sending the girls sexually explicit messages through the WhatsApp application.

Following psychological examinations, reports confirmed that the incident caused the minors a state of heightened anxiety and stress.

“The Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, Korçë, has completed the investigation and is sending to trial citizen B.D., accused of the criminal offense of ‘Sexual harassment’ against minors, as provided by Article 108/a/2 of the Criminal Code.

From the investigation into criminal proceeding no. 1449/2024, it resulted that the incident occurred in November 2024, when the parents of two students, identified by the initials I.B. and A.K., reported to the police sexual messages sent by the teacher via WhatsApp.

The girls stated that the communications had a harassing nature, including inappropriate requests and violations of their dignity.

The Prosecutor’s Office gathered substantial evidence, including the inspection of the minors’ and the defendant’s mobile phones, technical analysis of the conversations, as well as the girls’ statements taken in the presence of psychologists and legal representatives.

Psychological expertise reports showed that the incident caused the minors serious anxiety and stress, requiring specialized therapeutic support.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, Korçë emphasized that the case fulfills all the elements of the criminal offense of “Sexual harassment” against children, a crime that Albanian law considers to pose a high social danger,” the police stated.
