Skënderbeu makes a major signing, acquires the Polish defender who cost €1.8 million

Skënderbeu is considered by everyone as the favorite team to win the First Division championship, but the management of the Korçë club is still not convinced that the squad is complete and they are working hard in the transfer market.

While waiting for clarity on the future of striker Bismark, Skënderbeu has made a big move in defense, also at the insistence of coach Gjoka.

The “Albanian Superliga Fan Club” has learned that president Ardjan Takaj reached an agreement with Polish central defender Jan Sobociński, a player with a high-level CV, a luxury even for the Albanian Superliga.

The 26-year-old came up through LKS Łódź in Poland, where he excelled and also played for Poland U21.

In 2022, he made a high-profile move to the USA, as Charlotte bought him for \$1.8 million. In 2024, he returned to Europe, signing with PAS Giannina, where he stayed until spring.

The Polish defender had several options this summer but did not reach an agreement with some Polish clubs, and Skënderbeu took advantage at the end of the transfer window, offering him a contract, which he accepted. He is expected to be ready to play this weekend in Lushnjë.
