Meeting regarding the Population Census

Today, a meeting was held in Korçë regarding the Population and Housing Census with the participation of representatives from 3 districts (Korçë, Elbasan, Berat) and 18 municipalities of these districts, to inform the actors involved, about the way of organization and the success of the this important process, under the direction of the General Director of INSTAT Elsa Dhuli in cooperation with AMVV (Agency for the Support of Local Self-Government).

The Population and Housing Census starts on September 18, 2023 and the field work will last about 6 weeks. The innovations of this process are the use of electronic devices (tablets), which will replace paper questionnaires for the process of data collection in the field and the modernization of the Geographical Information System (GIS) - for the collection, monitoring, analysis and distribution of data.

Census is a very important process that serves as a basis for the conception and creation of statistical registers of the resident population, buildings and dwellings, but also as a database for various analyzes of INSTAT, in function of certain policies that are drawn up by institutions of MISCELLANEOUS
