A troubling incident occurred this morning in Ukraine, where the academy of the football club “Metalist 1925” was damaged as a result of an airstrike. Around 06:00, during a Russian air attack, a “Shahed” type drone struck the club’s training grounds, located within the Professional Olympic College “Ivan Poddubny,” which closely cooperates with the club.
The strike caused a fire in the sports complex, but fortunately, emergency services quickly extinguished the flames, and no injuries were reported.
What makes this incident particularly concerning for the Albanian public is that, according to sources close to the club, four Albanian players currently part of the Albanian Superliga are training at the “Metalist 1925” academy.
Additionally, the academy hosts a well-known figure in Albanian football: Ermir Rashica, a former player of Skënderbeu Korçë in the Superliga.
