The murder of 14-year-old Erald Xhejo by a peer in Maliq has once again shocked public opinion.

Singer Luiz Ejlli expressed on social media that this tragic event reflects the society we have built.

Among other things, he stated that after this tragedy, two mothers today don’t know where to find their breath, and two families will never be the same.

“Two mothers who today don’t know where to find their breath and two families that will never be the same. These children are hungry—hungry amid violence, anger, lack of love, and lack of care.

Schools are asleep, parents are distracted, the state turns a blind eye, and children are drowning in violence.

These are not random tragedies; they are a reflection of the society we have built and continue to sustain, where love is optional. Children learn from the streets that conflicts are resolved only with knives or blood, and for as long as we remain silent, the knife is in our hands.

If we don’t rise today, tomorrow it will be someone else’s turn,” Ejlli said in a video shared on social media.

The tragic incident occurred Thursday afternoon (August 14) outside a local establishment in the village of Pirg.

The two youths are believed to have had a previous dispute and met to clarify it. Instead of resolving the conflict, it escalated into a physical fight, during which a knife was used fatally. The perpetrator was injured, but not by the sharp weapon.
