Shortly before the start of the plenary session and the announced protest outside Parliament, the main entrance of the Parliament building has been surrounded with metal fencing, while authorities have increased security measures across the entire perimeter.
According to reports from the scene, the pedestrian area and the “Castle of Tirana” zone have been blocked, with access allowed only for MPs and authorized personnel.
At 10:00, the next protest rally is expected to begin, with protesters gathering once again in front of Parliament to express their opposition to the government. The protest comes just days after tensions recorded in the previous rally, where clashes occurred between protesters and police forces.
Meanwhile, several MPs from the Socialist Party have been seen entering the Parliament building early in the morning, ahead of the protest. Among those identified are the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and MP Lindita Nikolla.
It remains to be seen whether today’s protest will take place peacefully or will be accompanied by tensions, as in previous gatherings.
