Pension increases have started in January, Rama: The increment will double every year until 2030

Since January, pensioners have begun to benefit from the pension increase предусмотрed by the government.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the podcast “Flasim,” explained the financial support scheme for pensioners. He stated that the increase has taken effect starting January 2026 and that the scheme foresees progressive increases every year.

According to Rama, the January increment will double every year. In the following January, pensioners will receive double the current increase, then triple it, quadruple it, and five times the initial increase. The scheme foresees that this progression will stop in 2030.

“As we pledged during the campaign for the 83 mandates and as we raised 83 green cards in Parliament in favor of the gradual increase of pensions during this historic mandate, we have now begun the shift. According to the respective categories, pensioners have been benefiting from an increase since this January, which will double every January. So next January they will receive double the increase of this January. The January after that, triple the increase of this January, then quadruple it, and in Albania 2030 this progression will stop at five times the welcome increase of this January,” Rama said.
