A few minutes ago, the director of the TPI and an inspector, along with public order police officers in Vlorë, were involved in an incident.
The cause was a joint operation by the Municipal Police and the TPI to clear public spaces.
At the moment when TPI forces and municipal police were present, they were assaulted by four individuals who attempted to prevent the clearing of the public space.
The incident occurred at the entrance to the city of Vlorë, where, after a fight was identified, traffic police officers intervened to put an end to it. During the intervention, one of the officers was punched by several individuals, forcing him to draw his service weapon and fire a shot into the air to disperse the people involved.
Subsequently, the “Shqiponja” (Eagle) special forces were notified and escorted the individuals involved in the fight.

Vlorë / Preliminary information
Today, at around 12:20, police services were notified that at a location known as the Narta Roundabout, a conflict had occurred between NTPI employees and citizens I.D., 58 years old, D.D., 27 years old, and F.D., 23 years old. Nearby, two Traffic Police officers were carrying out a planned service and intervened to prevent the escalation of the conflict, but were physically assaulted by the three aforementioned individuals.
During the intervention and in an effort to stop the physical attack, one of the officers used his service weapon, firing a shot into the air, without causing injuries.
As a result of the physical injuries caused by the blows from the three individuals, the two police officers were taken to the Vlorë Regional Hospital, where they are out of danger.
An investigative group, composed of a judicial police officer from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Internal Affairs and Complaints Service (ACS), has been set up at the scene and is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
