POGRADEC, the team making history this season in women’s volleyball

After winning the “Gjergj Kastrioti” League Cup just a few days ago, Pogradeci on Friday also claimed the Republic Cup, defeating Tirana 3-2 in the final match.

The match was full of strong emotions over five sets. Tirana won the first set 25-18, but Pogradeci turned the game around by taking the second set 25-18 and the third 25-22.

Tirana leveled the match again by winning the fourth set 25-17, making it 2-2 in sets.

The cup was decided in the final set, which Pogradeci, coached by Besnik Lisha, won 15-11, securing the match 3-2.

This is the first Republic Cup to go to Pogradeci, where just a few days earlier they had also won the “Gjergj Kastrioti” Cup for the first time. Now, the team from the lake city aims for the championship title.
