POLICE / A 37-year-old man in neighborhood 3 in Korçë tries to act tough with the police but ends up facing consequences

Korçë / Preliminary Information

Around 1:00 PM, a citizen identified as O.C., residing in neighborhood 3, Korçë, reported to the Korçë Police Station that upon returning from Greece, he discovered that his television, a sum of money, and other items had been stolen from his home.

Following the report from O.C., the investigative team went to the scene. Through swift investigative actions and information gathered operatively by the Crime Investigation Specialists, it was determined that the suspected perpetrator of the theft was E.B., a 37-year-old resident of neighborhood 3, Korçë, who had previously been convicted for a series of thefts that occurred in Korçë in 2021.

Based on these suspicions, police officers went to E.B.’s residence to escort him to the station as a suspect in the theft.

When the police arrived at his home and informed E.B. that he was to be taken to the station for questioning, he slammed the door, breaking the glass, and attempted to escape through the bathroom door. However, he was unable to get away and was apprehended by the police.

E.B. was taken to the hospital for medical assistance after injuring his hand on the broken glass.

At the same time, one of the police officers also received medical treatment after being injured by the glass during the arrest of E.B.

After receiving medical care, E.B. was taken to the police facilities for further procedural actions, which are being conducted under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Agency for Police Oversight.”
