POLICE/ A serving police officer suspended from duty at the Qafë Thanë Border Crossing Point

A few hours ago, JOQ Albania published footage showing a citizen’s complaint at the Qafë Thanë border crossing, where police officers were seen allowing some vehicles to skip the line while others waited in traffic.

In response, the Local Directorate for Border and Migration in Korçë announced that Inspector R. S., shown in the video signaling a driver to cut in line, has been immediately suspended from duty.

The Directorate has also initiated a disciplinary investigation under Article 121 of Law No. 82/2024, “On the State Police,” point 1, letter “m,” concerning actions that severely damage the image of a police officer, the institution, or the police service as a whole.

The case has been forwarded to the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of State Police for a more thorough investigation.

The Local Directorate for Border and Migration in Korçë urges citizens to report any violations or illegal actions they observe, assuring that all complaints will be addressed promptly and in accordance with the law.
