The “After School” project by the Ministry of Education allows students to continue learning at school even after regular classes end, where they can complete homework or take part in other activities.
The program has also involved retired teachers, such as Vjollca Gashi in the city of Kukës.
Beyond helping students, the project has also given retired teachers the opportunity to become active again in their profession.
In Kukës, teacher Vjollca Gashi, who reached retirement age six months ago after a 43-year career, is one of the educators benefiting from the initiative. She says that thanks to her afternoon engagement with students, she remains active in the education system, a profession she has loved all her life.
The “After School” program in public schools aims to keep children at school beyond regular hours to complete homework or participate in various educational and practical activities.
In this context, a call has also been opened for retired teachers and specialists who wish to get involved, with a payment of around 1,000 lek per hour.
