Prime Minister Edi Rama announced changes in the political leaders of the districts during Saturday’s SP Assembly meeting.

Eduard Shalsi is leaving the leadership of the Kukës district and has been reassigned to a unit in Tirana. Damian Gjiknuri will also lead a unit in the capital.

Fatmir Xhafaj and Erion Braçe have been assigned to Unit No. 5. Similarly, Elisa Spiropali, who was removed as Foreign Minister, has been delegated to a unit in Tirana.

Rama also confirmed that Belinda Balluku will continue to remain in the Fier district.

“We are here to start a process with intensive communication of the SP across the entire territory and a complete reorganization, as a necessity for the electoral process of the organizations in preparation for the 2027 elections.

We are entering the next phase of our work for the upcoming elections, which, based on the analyses carried out and the forces we will have on the ground, we have reason to believe will achieve even better results than the previous elections,” said Rama.

The SP Assembly in Durrës, which started at 10:00, focuses on the party’s internal elections and preparations for the 2027 local elections.

Prime Minister Rama focused his speech on the fuel crisis, noting that oil prices are expected to rise further.

Meanwhile, SP Secretary-General Blendi Klosi gave a detailed analysis of the party’s performance in the 2025 parliamentary elections, setting a new target: each Socialist organization should recruit four new members (two women and two men).
