Rama meets with Pope Leo XIV

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with Pope Leo XIV this Thursday. He was accompanied by his wife, Linda Rama, and their son.

The meeting continued at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See with Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

“In warm discussions, the existing good relationship between the Holy See and the Republic of Albania was highlighted, and topics of mutual interest concerning relations between the church community and civil society were addressed,” announced the Holy See Press Office.

Key topics of the discussions also included major regional issues, including the situation in the Western Balkan countries and Albania’s path toward full integration into the European Union.
