Restoration of “Life-giving Spring” icon at Saint Peter Monastery in Vithkuq successfully finalized

With dedication and special care, the restoration of the iconic artwork “Life-Giving Spring,” a treasured part of the spiritual and artistic heritage of the Monastery of Saint Peter in Vithkuq, has been successfully completed.

This icon, renowned for its theological, historical, and artistic significance, is one of the most representative works of ecclesiastical art in the Korça region and beyond. The restoration was carried out by expert specialists who worked professionally to preserve the authenticity and original beauty of the piece.

“Life-Giving Spring” depicts the figure of the Theotokos (Mother of God) offering blessings and spiritual life — a living symbol of faith and hope for the local community and for all visitors following the traces of our shared heritage.
