Agim Rushiti was born on September 4, 1963, in the town of Ersekë, in the heart of Kolonjë. From a young age, he was drawn to football, a passion that would accompany him for more than three decades.
He was only 11 years old when he took his first steps on the green field, beginning a sporting journey that would last until 2003.
At the age of 18, he joined the first team of KF Gramoz Ersekë, where he quickly stood out for his exceptional qualities on the field. He was a fast, determined player with a rare instinct for scoring. When the ball was at his feet, it seemed to find its own way into the net.
Fans affectionately called him “Gigi,” a nickname that became part of his sporting identity. In the stands of Ersekë Stadium, his name was often heard, and the goals he scored sparked the enthusiasm of supporters. Because of his speed on the field, fans even gave him another epithet: “Gigi the cloud,” as it seemed he left a trail of smoke behind him when he ran.
For years, he became one of the most beloved figures in Kolonjë football. With dedication and rare passion, Agim Rushiti gave the team and the fans everything he had: his talent, energy, and fighting spirit. Today, complete statistics of the goals he scored for Gramozi may be hard to find, but those who saw him on the field know well that the numbers would tell a great story.
In Kolonjë, it is hard to find someone who does not know Agim Rushiti’s name. He remains one of those athletes who need no fanfare to leave a mark a silent hero on the green field, yet a great hero in the heart of every Kolonjë supporter.
