Actor Gjergji Lala has passed away at the age of 79.
The well-known actor died in a hospital in Italy, after a long-term illness he had been battling for some time.
He will be remembered for his contribution to the Albanian stage and screen, leaving behind a respected career in the art of acting.
Gjergji Lala, an Albanian actor and director, was born on 6 December 1947 in Lushnjë. He performed in many roles in Albanian theatre and cinema.
His most notable role was that of Mihal Grameno in the Albanian film “Freedom or death.” He had been living in Italy for years, where he also worked in various films and TV productions.
