The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, has announced a new salary increase for a portion of the State Police personnel.

According to her, around 720 officers will benefit from this measure, mainly those in structures with a high level of risk.

During her statement to the media, Koçiu explained that the salary increase is proposed for 2026 and aims to reward officers who are on the front lines facing crime and high-risk situations.

“We have proposed a new salary increase for State Police employees. Around 720 officers will receive an additional increase, which rewards all those officers who face danger and are on the front lines performing risky tasks.

This concerns three structures: RENEA, the national security forces, and operational units. There is a salary fund planned for 2026. With this increase, a regular inspector will earn 1,600 euros, while a RENEA commander will earn 2,300 euros. For operational forces, an inspector earns 1,200 euros and a commissioner 1,600–1,700 euros. This is a salary increase policy that demonstrates in practice the support given to State Police officers. At the same time, it helps retain the best personnel in these police units,” Koçiu said.
