SERIOUS / Children poisoned in kindergarten, OSHKSH: Situation under control, 76 samples under analysis by NJVKSH

In relation to the concerns raised at a preschool institution in Gramsh, the Local Health Care Unit immediately launched an investigation and is working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and health of the children and staff.

Following media reports regarding an incident at a preschool institution in the city of Gramsh, we clarify that the Local Health Care Unit has promptly followed up on the case.

One child presented with mild gastrointestinal symptoms and was referred for laboratory tests by the responsible pediatrician.

As part of the epidemiological investigation, a total of 76 samples have been taken from children and staff and are currently being analyzed.

The test results are not yet final, and they are expected to be available tomorrow, May 25, 2025.

The Local Health Care Unit of Gramsh has notified the National Food Authority (AKU) and the Institute of Public Health (ISHP), and is working closely with local authorities to ensure a thorough and careful assessment of the situation.

We emphasize that all actions have been taken promptly and professionally, and there is no cause for additional concern at this stage.

Any further information will be made publicly available in a transparent manner as soon as the analyses and relevant verifications are completed.
