Structure of the 2026–2027 academic year / Here’s when the school year starts and ends

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation have approved by joint order the structure of the 2026–2027 school year in the pre-university education system.
According to the guideline, classes in primary and secondary education will begin on 14 September 2026 and end on 18 June 2027.
The winter holidays will run from 24 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, while the spring break is scheduled from 29 March to 2 April 2027.
National exams and the State Matura will be held between 7 and 30 June 2027, depending on the respective education levels.
