Around €167 million have been deposited into the Special Account of the Pension Fund. Prime Minister Edi Rama announced this on his podcast “Flasim,” emphasizing that the government will continue the monthly increases for grandfathers and grandmothers in the country, keeping a promise made.
“Approximately €167 million have been deposited into the Special Account of the Pension Fund.
This week, an important financial transfer was made, directly linked to the future of the pension system and to what we have committed for the grandfathers and grandmothers of this republic.
As previously announced, the budget savings from 2025 were to be deposited into the Special Pension Fund at the Bank of Albania, which has now been done, totaling €167 million.
The transfer of these €167 million to this fund increases the system’s capacity to meet both the commitments made exactly as promised, month by month, year by year to pensioners, and the long-term obligations, thereby guaranteeing the promised increase in monthly pensions and ensuring the sustainability of the system,” Rama said.
