A girl who disappeared without a trace 32 years ago in a small town in Arizona has been found alive, solving one of the oldest unsolved cases.
Christina Marie Plante, now 44 years old, was identified this week by authorities, bringing closure to a case that had remained open for decades. She was last seen at the age of 13 on May 15, 1994, as she left her home in Star Valley heading toward a horse stable. From that moment, she “vanished without a trace,” writes The Sun.
Her disappearance was classified as a dangerous and suspicious case, prompting a large-scale search operation involving police, volunteers, and the local community. However, for years no concrete leads were found, and the case came to be considered a “cold case.”
The case was reopened by the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, which, through the use of modern technology and new investigative techniques, achieved a decisive breakthrough.
After more than three decades, authorities confirmed that Plante has been found alive and her identity has been officially verified. For reasons of privacy and well-being, further details about the case have not been made public.
Authorities emphasized that they remain committed to solving other cold cases and are urging the public to come forward with any possible information.
