Russia is prepared to launch a wave of cyberattacks against the United Kingdom, warned a senior British official.
Pat McFadden, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, stated that allies should not “underestimate” the threat posed by Moscow in its “covert war.”
In a television interview, she emphasized that Russia would do everything in its power to destabilize not only Ukraine but also NATO allies. “We must remain absolutely vigilant in this, both as a government and within businesses and society at large, to protect ourselves from cyberactivists.”
According to McFadden, Russia has targeted the UK’s energy infrastructure and “won’t hesitate” to target businesses as part of its effort to undermine countries supporting Ukraine.
