The Faculty of Economics at "Fan S. Noli" University Welcomes a New Laboratory in Support of Scientific Research

In the premises of the Faculty of Economics at "Fan S. Noli" University, the Scientific Research Laboratory was officially inaugurated. The laboratory was established within the framework of the project “Production Potential in the Region: Increasing Capacities and Production Standards in Function of Regional Development Prospects”. This project is financed by the university's own funds and aims to provide a sustainable foundation for supporting scientific research in the region.

The laboratory is an essential tool for conducting statistical analyses and economic modeling using advanced software such as SPSS 26, EViews 13, and MPlus. It is designed to support both academic staff and students in carrying out research projects, diploma theses, and studies of either an applied or theoretical nature.

The project coordinators, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleni Vangjeli and Dr. Emil Frashëri, presented to the attendees the concrete opportunities that this laboratory will offer for academic development and collaboration with local market actors.

The event was also addressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ledina Alolli, and the Rector of "Fan S. Noli" University, Prof. Dr. Lorenc Ekonomi, who congratulated the staff for their ongoing cooperation and dedication in strengthening the institution’s capacities. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance this laboratory will have not only for teaching and research within the faculty but also for cooperation with public and private institutions in the region, including businesses, researchers, and organizations interested in conducting in-depth analyses and studies.

During this event, the final results of the main project were also presented, along with discussions on the progress and achievements of two other ongoing projects being implemented by the Department of Finance and Accounting and the Department of Management.

The first project focuses on the employment opportunities of graduates from the Faculty of Economics in the banking and non-banking markets in the Korça region, with the aim of strengthening the faculty’s connection to the labor market, improving curricula, and enhancing students' practical skills.

The second project aims to assess the level of digital skills among students at "Fan S. Noli" University, recognizing these skills as essential for meeting the challenges of the digital age and ongoing technological transformations.

The inauguration of the laboratory was accompanied by the presentation of several diploma theses by students from the Master of Science in Finance program, providing a concrete example of how this laboratory will be used in practice.

This development marks another step forward for the Faculty of Economics and "Fan S. Noli" University, reaffirming their commitment to becoming an active center of scientific research and to building strong bridges between academic knowledge and the real needs of the market.
