The new General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, is sworn in

The swearing-in ceremony of the General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, was held this Tuesday in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu and Minister of Interior Besfort Lamallari. Hita was selected following the competition for the new head of the police, after the resignation of Ilir Proda.

“At this solemn moment, in respect of all generations of the Albanian police, as a sign of honor, duty and respect for the fallen blood of police officers, determined to protect public order and security and to guarantee the rigorous implementation of the law, I personally swear to uphold with honor the flag of the State Police,” Hita said at the beginning of his speech.

Earlier, Interior Minister Lamallari also spoke, stating that at this moment strong leadership is required in the State Police.

“Mr. General Director, you are taking office at a time when strong leadership, a clear vision and determination are required. The trust placed in you is a high one, in line with European integration,” Lamallari said.
