The oncology ward of the Korçë hospital has now been fully equipped with all the necessary medical equipment, thanks to a donation from the United States of America.

An initiative that began around two years ago by the “Albanian Fighting Cancer” foundation, bringing together philanthropists, artists, doctors, and many others, was finalized with a special event in the southeastern city.

This intervention means that patients fighting this difficult disease can now receive treatment according to the best American standards. Roberta Panariti and Fotini Kokeri were inspired by their personal experiences and their families’ battles with cancer to dedicate themselves to this cause.

By joining forces, they managed to transform the oncology ward in Korçë into one of the most complete and modern facilities in Albania. For the medical staff, this investment represents a major turning point in the quality of services and in the dignity of treatment provided to patients affected by cancer.

This investment reaffirms the long-standing tradition of philanthropy that characterizes Korçë, a path of generosity that began years ago with Thoma Turtulli, who donated the city’s first hospital. Following this legacy, Roberta Panariti has for six years provided continuous support through medical equipment donations, not only in Korçë but also in other hospitals across the country.

A humanitarian mission that has also been supported along the way by prominent figures from the arts, such as soprano Inva Mula and other well-known names, demonstrating that when willpower, art, and solidarity come together, even the most difficult challenges in healthcare can be overcome and transformed into hope for life.
