The Roots of Kolonja – Thomaidha Prodani
Mother Tomja was born in Tirana on March 29, 1946.
That same year, her family moved to the village of Podë in Kolonja, where the family’s roots lay, where not only her life would take root, but also the memory of an entire town.
Raised in a religious family as the granddaughter of a priest, she absorbed early on the highest human values. Humility, love for others, and mutual respect became the foundation upon which she built a life that speaks more through deeds than words.
Mother Tomja is, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable figures that Kolonja holds today.
One of those quiet souls who do not need to make noise to be heard, because their kindness resonates on its own. One of those mothers for whom the title “Mother” is not just a call, but a merit earned through life.
Above all, she has been a human being a woman with a great soul, tireless and devoted, who today has become one of the strongest roots of this town. There is no Kolonjar who does not know her, respect her, or has not eaten from her hand.
Some people are born with a talent for music or painting…
But Mother Tomja seems to have been born for something rarer: to embody humanity, respect, and altruism in their purest form.
So today, on her 80th birthday, we wish her life and health.
Thank you for the kindness you have spread and for the example you have left a model that speaks without a voice, yet is heard by all.
