Skënder Hita, Director of the State Police, has continued issuing instructions to his subordinates, this time focusing on schools.
The State Police has distributed a document to all local directorates across the country, acknowledging that the situation regarding drugs and cold weapons near schools has become a serious security problem.
The document, signed by Hita, focuses on incidents that occurred inside and near educational institutions during the 2024–2025 school year.
Students have been caught with narcotics, cold weapons, and other prohibited items, while some cases have led to serious consequences.
The document reports that police structures failed to secure timely information regarding drug distribution near schools and did not organize effective inspections. It also highlights a lack of cooperation with school administrators and security officers.
For this reason, the General Directorate has ordered emergency measures nationwide.
Criminal police agents will be deployed near schools, while anti-drug units and operational forces will conduct surprise inspections. Authorities are also being instructed to catch individuals distributing drugs near educational institutions in the act.
The document also calls for intensified use of special investigation methods and emphasizes the involvement of economic crime structures to stop the sale of products prohibited for minors.
