“They’re crying that there are no people in the halls,” Salianji sends a message to Berisha from Korça: “Open your wing, we can beat Edi Rama!”

Ervin Salianji sent a direct message from Korça to Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka, calling on them to open up space for Democrats who, according to him, are ready to confront the government.

Salianji stressed that the Democratic Party must find room for everyone within its structures and dismissed claims that there is a lack of people attending meetings.

He stated that, unlike many other political figures, he ended up in prison as a consequence of his battle with the government, while others benefited from permits, tenders, and wealth.

“I have paid a price because of this government. When I went to prison, many others received permits, won tenders, and made money,” Salianji said.

“We must find a position for everyone within the Democratic Party, and if they complain that there are no people in the halls, open your wing, friends, because here are the Democrats ready to move forward against the government. When they tell us—and you’ve heard it—that we Democrats, thousands across Albania, are not in the right moment, yes, we are late. We are late because for 13 years we have only been losing and not reacting. But Democrats do not keep their heads down; they are not used to doing so. Democrats must keep their heads high. We have 500,000 supporters, and today even more have joined.

Some say they are afraid of the regime, but Democrats are not afraid. The halls are full.

There is no greater interest for me than the overthrow of Rama. I was raised in this party. There is no greater interest than bringing down Rama, and I know all the problems well. How can it be said that I am a problem for the Democratic Party, when it is me and you who have defeated Rama, not those whom Rama crushes in every election? I believe the Democratic Party still has the strength to win elections. We have found the mechanism to bring down Edi Rama as soon as possible. We need to build a different rhetoric. No one is inspired, and politics does not function properly, if it does not serve the people.

Your presence moves me, because there are still Albanians and Democrats who do not give up. There are Democrats who do not accept this degradation,” he said.
