Two candidates in the race, Pogradeci begins elections for the leader of the DP branch

Around 1,000 members of the Democratic Party in the Pogradec branch will head to the polls this Sunday to elect the new leader of the branch. Two candidates are in the race: Kasem Galla, one of the long-standing members and a founder of the PD branch, who previously led this branch and is running again for leadership; and Oligert Muçllari, a finance professional who came from the ranks of FRPD and is currently the appointed head of the branch, seeking a full mandate to continue leading DP Pogradec and guide it in the 2017 local elections.

According to the rules, members whose names appear on the list can vote using their ID cards, while those not on the list for various reasons can vote with their DP membership card.

The election process for the branch chairman runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In the last elections for this branch, around 800 members participated, representing about 80% of the total.

It remains to be seen what the turnout will be tomorrow to choose the new leader.
