Veliaj from prison: They won’t give me the documents, I want to go to the office

The arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who is currently held in the Durrës prison cells, has complained via social media that SPAK is not providing him with printed copies of the documents related to his investigation.

According to Veliaj’s request, over 60,000 pages would need to be printed, costing millions of lek and wasting enormous amounts of paper, even though the materials have already been provided digitally on a USB and given to his lawyers.

Veliaj argues that he cannot access the USB because there is no computer available in prison.

It appears that, to open the USB, he would need Ulsi Manja to bring a computer into the prison. At the same time, he claims he needs to go to his office.
