An Indian woman, Jivunben Rabari, believed to be around 70 years old, has given birth to her first child through a rare in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure, attracting attention from doctors and media worldwide.

According to reports, she delivered a baby boy in the state of Gujarat, in western India. The case is considered highly unusual, as Rabari and her husband had been trying to become parents for decades without success.

The doctor overseeing the process stated that the treatment was very complex due to the patient’s advanced age, calling the outcome “a case rarely seen in medical practice.” Although the woman lacks official identification documents, the medical team reported that she herself stated she is around 70 years old.

After the successful IVF procedure and continuous medical monitoring, Rabari gave birth to a boy, experiencing what she described as “the dream of her life.”

The news has sparked debate in India and beyond, reigniting discussions about the risks of pregnancies at very advanced ages, while also drawing supportive reactions for the couple who fulfilled their long-awaited desire to have a child.
