Teuta-Skënderbeu 0-3 (17-25, 12-25, 20-25)

Skënderbeu started the second phase right where they left off in the first. Orlando Koja’s girls began the second phase with a clean victory, defeating Teuta 3-0 in Durrës. This victory has the name Elena Bego written all over it, as she scored an impressive 17 points, leading the white-and-red team to victory.

The first set started with several consecutive ties at 1-1 and 3-3 before Skënderbeu pulled ahead at 5-9 and 6-14. From that point on, there was little doubt about the outcome, as the visitors maintained their lead, controlling the game at 12-17, 15-20, and finally closing the set at 17-25, taking a 0-1 lead.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with early ties at 1-1 and 3-3, but that was as close as it got. Skënderbeu quickly took control at 4-12 and then 5-17, establishing a commanding lead that showcased their dominance. With scores of 9-22 and a final result of 12-25, Skënderbeu secured a comfortable 0-2 lead in sets.

The third and final set began with Skënderbeu taking an early lead at 2-5, but Teuta responded well, overturning the score to 8-5 in their favor. This set proved to be the most competitive, as Teuta extended their advantage to 10-6 and then 13-8. However, Skënderbeu fought back, narrowing the gap to 17-14 and eventually equalizing at 20-20. In the decisive moments, the white-and-red team scored five consecutive points, closing the set at 20-25 and securing a 0-3 victory.

A dominant performance that places Skënderbeu at the top of the standings with 23 points, pulling away from their rivals.

Congratulations to the white-and-red girls and captain Elena Bego, who was the best player on the court today! Kudos to coach Koja and Haxhillari!

Next week, Skënderbeu will host Dinamo at the “Tamata Nikolla” sports hall.
