A tragic incident has shaken the town of Igoumenitsa in Greece, where an 11-year-old boy lost his life in a road accident. The child was returning home from school when he was hit by a vehicle on one of the town’s main streets.

Reports indicate that the boy attempted to cross the road as a vehicle approached. The collision was severe, causing serious injuries. He was immediately taken to the Igoumenitsa Emergency Department and then transferred to Filiates Hospital, but unfortunately did not survive.

The incident has raised serious concerns in the community about pedestrian safety, particularly for children walking near educational institutions. Greek authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the causes and circumstances of the accident.
